The largest publicly-managed Sports Fitness Center is inaugurated in San Javier –
The San Javier municipal sports center has opened the doors of the “largest publicly-managed Sports Fitness Center in the Region”, according to the Councilor for Sports, Sergio Martínez, during the inauguration of the new building. The event was attended by prominent representatives of the municipal sports field.
The mayor, José Miguel Luengo, and the general director of Sports, Francisco Sánchez, accompanied by the councilor Sergio Martínez and the Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Jesús García Pallarés, inaugurated the Center, which will be fully operational from next 3 July and is located within the San Javier Municipal Sports Center.
The Fitness Center consists of four rooms and a terrace, which will allow the municipal sports offer to be expanded, according to the mayor of Sports, Sergio Martínez. Specifically, it has a 450-square-meter weights room equipped with high-quality machinery, divided into five areas. The room offers a cardio area with 18 machines with connectivity, TV, Internet and remote control for use during training and maintenance, as well as an area with bilateral and dual pulley machines.
In addition, the Center has plate machines, a free weight area and a group work area, which will allow group classes to be offered within the room itself. On the ground floor there are two large changing rooms, one for men and the other for women, an automated access control and a multi-service kiosk that will allow users to make reservations for activities and other procedures.
On the top floor, the sports complex offers a 160-square-meter fitness room dedicated to low-intensity work, another 120-square-meter fitness room dedicated to high-intensity work, an 80-square-meter terrace prepared for outdoor activities, and a state-of-the-art Indoor Cycle room.
The spinning room has 23 bicycles, ambient lighting with color changes, two 85-inch display screens, and a gamification program as an additional attraction.
Sergio Martínez highlighted the difficulties involved in the construction of this infrastructure, which suffered paralysis due to the pandemic, lack of supplies and even the abandonment of the work by the first company awarded the contract, in addition to the inflation caused by the War. He thanked all the previous Sports councilors and the extensive team that finally made the opening of this facility possible, allowing us to offer a better service to citizens.
Mayor José Miguel Luengo highlighted the symbolic value of beginning the new legislature with this sporting inauguration and promised to continue investing in sport, since he considers that it is an investment in health and improvement in the quality of life of families and neighbors.
