Exclusive: Splitsvilla fame Nawab Ahmad on being a fitness freak, says ‘it helps me feel confident about myself’
He says, “Fitness is important for everyone. However, for most actors, exercise and a healthy lifestyle is the only avenue to be more engaged and active. The other aspect is that fitness leads to you feeling more confident and comfortable in your skin. It’s a superficial industry and that can often lead actors to obsess about how they look. But I mostly try to ignore that side of it and do it for myself.”
Nawab continues to share how fitness helps him in being mentally and physically fit.
“I have always found that when I’m physically in a good place it helps me stand tall and feel confident in myself. You should always strive to be comfortable the way you are, and regular exercise and good eating will make you feel better in yourself, and we need to make sure to stay committed. Acting is also very physical and almost every play I have been in requires some form of physical work, so remaining strong, fit and flexible helps my acting work as well. Being fit and healthy will help all aspects of your acting. When you’re physically fit, you are mentally fit as well,” he added.
Nawab recently travelled to Jaipur for shoots and has all praises for the Pink city. “I find another level of peace whenever I’m in Jaipur. It’s not the first time I’m shooting here. You feel so good and connected to the culture here. It’s always an amazing experience shooting here. I feel connected to Jaipur.”
Nawab came from Afghanistan in 2007 at the age of 16 to India along with his family to escape the war in Afghanistan after losing his dad. He started his career in showbiz. Recently he featured in songs, ‘Maine Tere Naal Ne Rehna’ and ‘Tera Daur’.
