An Australian fitness coach has revealed how to make a healthy version of the famous McDonald’s apple pie – and it only has 160 calories.
Lauren Simpson, 32, used simple ingredients including cinnamon, eggs and apples in the ‘quick and easy’ recipe and wowed fellow health enthusiasts with how good it tastes.
The Maccas option has 100 more calories and nine grams more fat than her recipe which was inspired by Aussie foodie Eliya Eats creation.

Lauren said she made the recipe ‘right away’ and described the result as ‘ultimate’.
‘It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing video but they sure tasted amazing,’ she said.
The recipe calls for a sheet of puff pastry, a Granny Smith apple, butter, low calorie sweetener, cinnamon, lemon juice, corn flour and an egg.
Lauren simply cut the pastry in eight, mixed apples, seasoning and corn flour in a pan, added the filling to the pastry sections and topped the filling with another section of pastry.
The recipe makes four pies and they can be cooked in as little as eight minutes.
It is a much healthier option to McDonald’s, it has 25 grams of carbs, 3 grams of protein and 5.5 grams of fat.
Lauren’s followers were impressed with the simple recipe.
‘Omg how haven’t I seen this, this is amazing,’ one woman said.
‘I will definitely try this one too,’ another wrote.
‘That’s a definite. The only thing I like on the whole McDonald’s menu,’ another commented.
‘Yum! My teen sons LOVE McDonald’s apple pies, unfortunately, so I will DEFINITELY make this for them! Thank you for this recipe,’ another wrote.
