Health experts share simple weight loss tip that doesn’t involve diet or exercise | Fitness tips of the day
For those of us who are trying to lose weight, it can sometimes seem as though the struggle is constant.
Shedding the pounds involves making some important lifestyle changes, such as eating healthier and doing more exercise – and it can be hard to build a good routine and stick to it long enough to see results.
But to help achieve your weight loss goals faster, experts at Weight Watchers say there’s a certain habit to incorporate into your daily routine, and it doesn’t have anything to do with exercise or diet.
The Mirror reports that the weight loss company, now known as WW, did some research and discovered that its members were more successful at shedding the pounds when they were updating others on their new lifestyle.
They found people who shared a diary of their daily lives with friends and followers were encouraged by the positive feedback they received.
More than 50 per cent of people surveyed said they found it crucial to have the support of a weight loss community, especially when it came to switching up their eating habits.
And 53 percent were spurred on by sharing snaps of their diet-friendly meals on social media.
The company’s marketing director Claudia Nicholls said: “The support of a community has always proved to be an effective way of forming and sustaining healthy habits, but with the explosion of online communities there has never been an easier or more affordable way to tap into the power of the crowd for support and inspiration.
“Weight Watchers’ own social community for members, Connect, which sees over 14,000 daily posts in the UK alone, provides our members with instant access to a community of people who are on similar journeys to them.
“Bringing little rituals like posting pictures into our lives quickly creates habits that are hard to give up, which can have a life-changing impact, by helping to shape how we live, how we feel and, ultimately, who we become.”
