this economy was designed by US after WW2, particular when usa and china built the strategic partnership since 1979, since then us enjoyed 30 years single pole super power and donimiation in the global economy and geo-political affairs, even in 2008 that china has supported the us recovery form recession by buying us debt and support us recovery, invest us on the infrasture facility such as clean energy sectors, while us was thinking about back to asian and pacific to fighing against china. in realiy everytime us working with china us win the battle and war, everytime us is agianst china, us lose the war, battle and political infulence. us people has gian significant benifits from china for the low cost products and low cost labor, while china suffer the environmal polution. nowadys china takes account for 40% of world production but china only cosume 20% of it another 20% is acually the value added by trading with us, eu, africa, south east asuia and other regions. by trading with china, us could focus on the high end technology product and sevice sectors such as medicine, AI, space technology, clean energy, and education etc. china is focus on the low end products which are time a d labor consuming. under the new trade agreement inn 2019 china has open the finance secor to us and which helps us capital enjoy the developing of china gdp and high end economy growth by investing and dominating in automobile, logistic, medicine, education, energy, finance ect sectors. however the less educated people in us they do not see the value of trading. recently china has been thinking about increasing their strategic weapon stock due to significant voice and reality of the decopuling sino-us economic strategy raised by right exrem of us politicans, a bad hints for 21 century. what happen to spain and uk centuries before might happen between us and china if us are not aware of the reality of a rising power which has strong leadership, long term strategy, thoudands years histoty for fighting for peace with geopolitical power and infuluence. think about that could one strong us man beat five hard working chinese given china is so much focus on the education and engineering noways? from cultral perspective, chinese always persue collectively leadership although some of chinese are not favor an authoritian cenral goverment, but this reality will not change in hundres years, this is just the way it was in a long history given the civilization heritage towards governing or serving the people and goverment.
thanks dw for this episode and expect more broudly view and facts in this quarter 2020.

Rightly said global problem global approach. Solution EXCLUDE China in all regards of world business activity. Let them produce and consume within their own country. Soon they would be selling their weapons what the Russians are doing in order to survive. Rest of the world is giving them opportunity to earn trillions of $ by cheap quality Chinese good. Thus manufacturing again and again causes plenty of stress to climate change raw materials and energy.

The CEO of Bank of America discussed their outlook over the weekend. The this quarter will be horrible, next quarter bad, better third quarter, fourth back to growth. They expect GDP growth of 6 percent in 2021. So hard down, back up just as fast. Maybe this will be accurate, maybe not. I don’t understand why a booming economy that was flattened by this shock would not be able to recover quickly if a treatment or vaccine comes along. We don’t have to completely rebuild our economy as though we had all been bombed or something.

this is important !!! these decades and now the global economy is experiencing a recession. this is due to China's ambition to dominate the economy and pressure the world to depend on China. for that it's time the world thinks healthy and attracts all investment from china, and balances again a healthy and clean world order from China's ambitions that harms the world.

It is not recession but a great depression which could leave every devoloped country in reiuns economically . To overcome the expected depression there is need for united combat against coronavirus without deciption among each others and help those who realy are suffring from the pendemic. And there should be online jobs for the unemployed people who lost there jobs during the pendemic.

The recession will probably be a "V" (or stretched "W"). In 2008, a book End of Days was published by one Sylvia Browne. In it there was a passage: "In around 2020 a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread throughout the globe, attacking the lungs and the bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments. Almost more baffling than the illness itself will be the fact that it will suddenly vanish as quickly as it arrived, attack again ten years later, and then disappear completely."

Heading towards a recession? You can run from the virus but you can't hide. There is no cure anytime soon, which means you can't stay locked in your house forever. This is a planned event predicated on the collapse of the everything bubble. I warned everyone. Now that stocks are crashing perhaps the public will look into other more important factors, including historic levels of corporate and consumer debt, the global dollar liquidity shortage and the Fed's repo crisis, the global plunge in exports and manufacturing, the retail Apocalypse in the U.S., collapsing Treasury yields, collapsing oil prices, etc. Most of these are problems that existed long before the coronavirus, but maybe now people will start paying attention to them.

    Whats your poison?
(A). Stop mainly old people dying, destroy your economy, the future of the young and mortgage the unborn to pay for it.

(B). keep the economy on the move, protecting the future of the young and their education. Isolate the vulnerable and the elderly.

If we end up in a economic depression; the cure will end up killing more people than the virus worldwide not just at home.
If the death rate is 0.3% according to some, the UK has 3776333 people who have had corona virus.

The smart ones know to avoid the distractions and focus on investments now as the world economy will definitely need some readjustments and a lot more people will be in debts. .

Good report. But there was never a question about the sustainability of the “ capitalism “ model itself. Are companies like Apple Computer and Nike really justified to amass enormous profits compared to the extremely low (sweatshop) wages they pay over seas workers. This virus crisis could be the dawn of a more socially responsible and equitable capitalism! Maybe not!
