When it comes to the iconic Jennifer Aniston, everyone seems to want in on her health and wellness secrets. So when the 54-year-old actress bares all (like in that steamy shower pic), we listen. Luckily for us, Aniston recently dropped her go-to salad recipe that keeps her satisfied and feeling healthy—and we’re already working up an appetite.
The Murder Mystery 2 star said that healthy eating (in addition to drinking water, working out, and getting enough sleep) is one of her top tips for aging well in a recent interview with Today. And when it comes to her diet, Aniston loves a well-rounded, “really hearty salad.”
Since Aniston is “not a romaine fan,” she prefers to start by filling her bowl with butter lettuce before adding her favorite toppings. “I love to have some mushrooms. I love sprouts. I love a little tomato,” she told Today. “Avocado, Kalamata olives, always some cheese—never gonna give up my cheese. I’ll do sliced parmesan, pecorino…feta…or all of them! Sliced almonds, sunflower seeds.”
Aniston also likes to add an egg to her salad, either chopped or poached. And to top it all off she’ll use oil and vinegar or a vinaigrette as a dressing. “And if it’s the weekend, some good ole ranch,” she said.
If Aniston’s salad recipe has you wondering what else the star loves to fuel her body with, we have good news. The actress also shared her go-to chocolate smoothie recipe that she said is “so filling” in an interview with Byrdie. “It tastes like I just indulged,” she said at the time.
The smoothie consists of Vital Proteins Chocolate Collagen Powder or Chocolate Vital Performance Protein Powder, chocolate almond milk, cinnamon, maca berry, cacao, matcha powder, spinach, and sometimes a banana and a handful of berries.
When it comes to eating, Aniston previously said that she is “committed to being mindful of what I put into my body” when discussing her wellness routine. Plus, she makes exercise a priority. “If I have only five minutes, I’ll use them to move my body,” she said.
Speaking of movement, Aniston recently shared her go-to fitness gear while opening up about the low-impact workout she called a “game changer” and “way more sustainable than any other workout” in a recent interview with ELLE.
Plus, she can relate her new favorite workout platform to her love for salads. When speaking with Today, Aniston compared Pvolve to a “good salad bar,” because both allow you to choose exactly what’s right for you, whether it’s a workout or a meal.
We don’t know about you, but we’re getting our shopping lists ready so we can recreate Jen’s favorite salad ASAP!
