SANTA BARBARA, California — Two students of their 20s with extra creativity than widespread sense had to be rescued off the Santa Barbara coast when their do-it-yourself boat made from buckets and kiddie pools drifted out into the ocean.

The two males had constructed their un-seaworthy craft by utilizing duct tape to lash collectively 20 Home Depot buckets and two plastic kiddie pools on a bit of plywood.

They went out on the water off Isla Vista round 2 a.m. Saturday.
