Tenerife, capital of well-being

Last weekend, on Saturday March 4, the magazine “Objetivo Bienestar”, a pioneering publication in health, food and sustainability, organized the “Healthy Weekend” event in Tenerife, a complete program of activities in which its attendees learned to take care of their bodies inside and out, surrounded by the privileged environment offered by the paradisiacal Canary Islands. In addition, the day took place in a dream location, the Bahía Wellness Retreat Spa, the jewel in the crown of the Bahía del Duque Hotel facilities –which also include 5 outdoor swimming pools and a complete gym–, a luxurious complex that it rises around 6 hectares of subtropical gardens and a few meters from the beach.
It was a weekend with a complete self-care program that included presentations on Feng Shui and nutrition and physical classes in the discipline of Ballet Fit and fitness, all of them taught by renowned experts and under the patronage of LA RAZÓN, Turismo de Tenerife, Hotel Bahía del Duque, Bahía Wellness Retreat and in collaboration with Ballet Fit, Fuentealta and Canarias.com
These “healthy” days began with a masterclass given by the media and charismatic physical trainer Cesc Escolà, author of the book “Much more than Fitness”, published by Planeta. The athlete became known to the general public as an exercise teacher at the “Operación Triunfo” academy, and since then he has established himself as an eminence in terms of body care.
Beyond his time on the “talent show” of Televisión Española, his resume includes seven years as a trainer in the most reputable gyms in Barcelona, and now he is a teacher and tutor of the Higher Degree of Physical Conditioning, where he trains future professionals of fitness.
In his masterclass in Tenerife, the strength and resistance of the whole body was worked on and improved with functional exercises and with one’s own body weight, a technique that responds to the name of calisthenics. She also included cardio with dance moves and body combat. Finally, he ended up lowering heart rate with stretches of all muscle groups.
Mareva Gillioz, integrative dietitian and specialized microbiota “coach”, author of the book “Happy Food Therapy”, completed this “healthy” day with a talk that focused on how to feed happiness through integrative self-care. Food, together with regular exercise, is another of the basic pillars of a healthy life and attention should be paid to taking care of it as much as when practicing sports.
Ballet Fit and luxury spa
In the afternoon, those attending this “Healthy Weekend” were also able to enjoy a masterclass by Gloria Morales, the creator of the Ballet Fit discipline and author of the book “Ballet Fit: The method that will change your body”, from the Martínez Roca publishing house . The athlete is quite a personality on social networks, and her official Instagram profile has a whopping more than 170,000 followers who have already joined this trend when it comes to taking care of her. It is a choreographic activity that combines classical ballet and fitness exercises, which is successful in the United States and the United Kingdom and which celebrities such as Paula Echevarría, Rossy de Palma, Raquel Sánchez Silva, Eugenia Silva and Laura Sánchez have already tried out in Spain. During the Ballet Fit masterclass, attendees worked on four fundamental pillars: toning and strength, coordination, balance, and flexibility and elasticity. The exercises are based on ballet and are combined with fitness to the rhythm of the latest music, offering those who practice it a playful, healthy and sporty activity in equal parts.
Undoubtedly, one of the best moments for the attendees of the “Healthy Weekend” came when the organized activities ended. and they were able to immerse themselves in the warm waters of the Bahía Wellness Retreat spa, awarded in 2022 and 2023 for its facilities. Its treatments and services combine “the power of the Atlantic Ocean and the sun of the Canary Islands” to offer a complete spiritual and physical retreat that captivates guests through all five senses.
