    Not sure if you read these comments or not, but you should cut down on bigger fish like salmon and tuna, and eat more of smaller fish such as sardines or mackerel. The reason is simple but important: mercury. Larger fish accumulate far more mercury because they tend to be longer-living predators, and thus have more time to pile up toxic molecules in their fat. Most nutritional research on the topic tends to recommend limiting intake of these larger fish to less than once a week (and less than once a month for pregnant women).

    Really good overall summary Jeremy. Not exactly true re: the science, at least on the athlete level. Look into the research by Volek et al on substrates and fat metabolism on a 1-year ketogenic diet (tested via muscle biopsy after 3 hours of running). The effects of a keto diet vs the same kcals on moderate fat and low-fat diets was nearly 2x more fat burned during exercise. This translated over to about 1.4x fat loss via kcal comparison to normative exercise protocols. This was true for the same spectrum of subjects as we see in clinic: about 80%. 20% can burn fat equally well on any diet, but 80% do far better when insulin is very low; not necessarily ketogenic, although that has major benefits if your exercise levels are above normal. Thanks!

    It's not only calorie deficit! It's WHAT you eat as well! It's not the same 500 calories of carbs than 500 calories of fat in terms of raising your insulin levels!

    What would my fat, protein and carb intake be to lose weight, i don't understand the maths. My currentvweight 9 stone, so 126Ib. I am ill no exercise, homebound so i read my calorie intake should not exceed 1350 to maintain weight, but i have belly fat and want to lose a few pound, i can't exercise, so I'm thinking reduce calories a little, to less than 1350, because those calories are likely to only maintain weight. So how many calories do i need to reduce by and then how much protein, fat and carbs, please help work it out for me. I don't want to become obese, any fatter around my belly even though i gave debilitating illness and homebound for 7 years.

    Love the videos. Just so you are aware, the values you show for calories are in thousands of calories instead of just calories. Ex. 100 kcal = 100,000 calories and 100 cal = 100 calories
