The UN is approaching this from the same old angle that it is only women who are affected by domestic violence. Where is the help for men stuck at home with a violent wife/girlfriend? It is men who are more vulnerable as there are no shelters for them. If they report it they get laughed at and told to ' man up '. In over 70% of all domestic violence situations it is the female who attacks first. They don't just slap either, they use knives, heavy pans, boiling water. If a man has the gall to defend himself she will call the cops and he is arrested despite being the victim. Nothing happens to the woman exceptan army of lesbian social workers who do their best to force the man from the home. This is what makes him more vulnerable. No hand stroking and a nice cup of te for him!

In Sweden we just appointed a minister for equality for this covid-19 situation/response
I laughed a little to be honest, but hey, it's needed.

How nice of the UN to warn us of a risk from this virus. That'd be a new concept for them.

When it comes to China, there are always tons of doubts, all those implications, undertones and connotations. The way they put it makes China’s “No deaths three days in a row” sounds so suspicious.

As a matter of fact, if westerners actually stay at home as much as possible, wear masks when they go out (instead of stigmatising it) and follow proper social distancing guidelines, they can do that too.

Well, in reality, according to the NY times, the US has already been aware of the potential pandemic risk since January 8th (the earliest news coverage about the virus). They had enough time to prepare for it yet they didn’t do much in the early phase.

Just admit it. Their failure to cope with the virus is not because China should’ve warned them earlier. Their arrogance and incompetence contributed to the forecasting error. After all, it seemed to be China’s problem only in the early days so why should they care? Only Chinese were dying so what should they worry about? As long as they promptly suspended all China-US flights (which they did) then they can sit in front of tv and watch Chinese die.

However, in a globalised world, human beings are a community of destiny. Their failure to act quickly and effectively is, at the end of the day, their own fault.

It’s so easy to blame others and China is the perfect target. However, if people don’t reflect on their own mistakes, problems shall never be solved once and for all.
