PORT ANGELES — Restaurant homeowners who violate Dr. Allison Berry’s vaccination mandate are given 72 hours to conform earlier than their health permits could be revoked by the Clallam County Department of Health and Human Services, she stated.

Berry, the company director and health officer for Clallam and Jefferson counties, stated Friday that homeowners with revoked permits are referred to the state Department of Labor & Industries, which might levy fines.

“I do not believe any fines have been levied in our counties,” Berry stated throughout a series of textual content messages Thursday and Friday.

“Yes, companies have been referred to L & I. Most comply at that time.

“Yes, We are beginning the enforcement process with some businesses [last] week, which would result [in] revoking permits if they do not comply with the rules.”

Eight institutions have been on Berry’s vaccination-requirement enforcement record as of Friday morning, she stated.

All have been in Port Angeles, Sequim and Forks — and none in Jefferson County.

Berry wouldn’t launch the names of the companies “as it impairs our working relationships and our likelihood of achieving voluntary compliance,” she stated.

“We must prioritize enforcement primarily based on threat, given restricted employees.

“It could be very straightforward for a patron to evaluate if a
enterprise is following these rule sand to not
patronize that area whereas enforcement is underway.”
