Kevin Feige And Patty Jenkins' Star Wars Movies Are Reportedly DeadWRITTEN BY SUMI DEKA
Star Wars films are currently one of the most profitable franchises working in Hollywood but two newly announced films have witnessed their end.
The movies were to be presented by Kevin Feige and Patty Jenkins but they have been pulled out from development and the news was confirmed by Variety.
Jenkins was supposed to direct Rogue Squadron, which was a spinoff related to Revel Alliance Starfighters, and it was scheduled to release in December 2023.
Feige’s film was not titled so far and it was a collaboration with Lucasfilm Studios president Kathleen Kennedy. Feige once stated that he is a big fan of the franchise.
Although screenwriter Michael Waldron confirmed that he and Feige started working on the script, the busy schedule of MCU has possibly not allowed Feige to work on the project
However, Waldron is still working on the script for the upcoming MCU film, Avengers: Secret Wars, which is scheduled to release in 2026.
For now, Taika Waititi and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s Star Wars movies might be greenlit and spokespersons for Disney and Lucasfilm are yet to comment.
Jenkins’ project was also under development and she was trying to bring the film as soon as possible although she was not sure about if the film would happen or not.
