Yellowstone County expands vaccine availability | Local News

2 min read

This week, the health care services obtained about 2,100 first doses of vaccine. About 100 Moderna vaccine doses had been distributed to RiverStone Health, whereas each Billings Clinic and St. Vincent Healthcare obtained a minimum of 975 Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine doses every.

But the demand for the COVID-19 vaccines continues to outpace provide, mentioned John Felton, Yellowstone County Public Health Officer and President and CEO of RiverStone Health in an interview with The Billings Gazette.

About 300,000 folks fall into Phase 1B statewide, Felton mentioned, and about 45,000 to 50,000 of these folks reside in Yellowstone County.

“The number of appointments will vary from week to week because the number of doses available varies so much,” Felton mentioned.

Today, RiverStone Health opened 90 appointment slots for its on-site vaccine clinic. Within about 40 minutes of the UHC asserting that native health services can now vaccinate these in Phase 1B, all 90 slots had been crammed, Felton mentioned. Over 60 folks had left messages on RiverStone’s telephone line.

Billings Clinic, St. Vincent Healthcare and RiverStone Health is not going to be utilizing a waitlist mannequin, and people who would really like a vaccine might want to try to make an appointment when slots can be found.

Again, all of it depends upon what number of doses the county receives.
