You reap what you sow. And the decision of the assembly of the employers’ association of businessmen and women of Catalan sports and fitness centers, Adecaff, to re-elect the candidacy led by August Tarragó, would confirm the satisfaction that his management during his first term has generated.
August Tarragó began his first term, succeeding his predecessor, Toni Brocal, in July 2020, that is, the year of the pandemic, and in a month in which the fitness sector in Catalonia took to the streets to fight against the ‘wholesale’ restrictions decreed on gyms and sports facilities by the administrations to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
Tarragó himself has recognized that “it has been a very difficult stage of great learning, in which we have felt the support of the associates, and we have been supported by the strength of unity and the conviction that together we are stronger” .
FIRST TERM ACHIEVEMENTS
During the three years of August Tarragó’s first term, Adecaff has increased services to partners by developing webinars, training and professional meetings; he has offered legal advice; it has increased the number of sponsoring companies; and organized the first congress of him.
On the other hand, the employers’ leadership has been reflected in the creation of new projects such as the creation of a space for sectoral reflection, another for advice and consultation led by the ‘senate’ of veteran professionals in the sector, or the creation of the sports sector within the small and medium-sized business association (Pimec).
“RESUME THE CHALLENGES OF SECTOR GROWTH”
The renewed president of the employers’ association has announced that “now it is time to start a new stage, not only because we have been re-elected, but because, fortunately, the pandemic has passed and we must resume the growth challenges of the sector.”
The Board of Directors of this second term, to which, according to Tarragó himself, “we hope to add new people in the coming months”, is made up of the following professionals:
