September is quickly approaching and it’s almost time for AdventHealth’s annual Living in Vitality (LIV) Conference. One of the best opportunities in Kansas City for women to dedicate a day to focus on their whole health, the LIV conference will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at the Overland Park Convention Center.
LIV promotes, activates and amplifies the health and wellness of women in Kansas City and beyond. Conference attendees spend the day listening to keynote speakers, joining breakout sessions, learning about health products and services, participating in health screenings and enjoying food, fun and friendship with other women going through many of the same joys and challenges in life.
“The 2023 conference theme is LIV with Confidence,” said Kate Buenger, AdventHealth Partnerships and Events Manager. “Confidence will be a common thread throughout the entire day from breakout sessions to keynote speakers to our health screenings. We want our attendees to walk away from the conference with an increased confidence in their health and wellness – mind, body and spirit.”
This year marks LIV’s 26th anniversary. Each year, event organizers look for ways to incorporate new ideas and topics that appeal to women of all ages and backgrounds.
“We are incredibly lucky to have many physicians and providers within the AdventHealth system who bring a wealth of knowledge to our conference,” said Buenger. “We also have several new speakers from groups that are doing great things in the community including The Matrescence, Screen Sanity, Commerce Bank and JE Dunn.”
LIV will feature 18 breakout sessions covering topics such as sleep health, financial fitness, self defense, reducing cancer risk and healthy eating tips to name a few.
The keynote speakers line up will include:
- Princess Sarah Culberson of Sierra Leone, an internationally-known thought leader, TEDx speaker, artist and educator whose work addresses biracial and cultural identity and raises awareness of issues impacting Sierra Leone
- Amy Barnes, an engineer turned comedienne, who has appeared on Comedy Central and the National Lampoon Network
- Jenny Evans, an inspiring speaker, author and organizational consultant on resiliency, stress, confidence and human performance.
Last year was Buenger’s first year planning the conference. She describes LIV as a truly special event that has exceeded her expectations.
“I’m excited to continue to build on the foundation that was put in place by so many outstanding women over the years,” said Buenger. “I love standing back and watching more than 1,000 women bond over one common goal – learning how to live their healthiest life mentally, physically and spiritually.”
