How to watch the Oscars right now via streaming, cable and for free

Lights, camera, Oscars! The curtain is up on the 96th Academy Awards. As you read this, Hollywood’s biggest stars are gathering at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California to walk the Oscars red carpet. This year’s show has an earlier start time than usual, kicking off at 7 p.m. ET. The ceremony will see performances of all five of the original songs nominated this year, including a much-anticipated live performance of “I’m Just Ken” from Ryan Gosling. The list of presenters is — unsurprisingly — star-studded, including Zendaya, Nicolas Cage, Jamie Lee Curtis, America Ferrera, Brendan Fraser, Ariana Grande, Ryan Gosling, Matthew McConaughey, Michelle Yeoh and Al Pacino.

There are ten films up for arguably the biggest category of the evening: Best Picture. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer leads the category with 13 nominations. Barbie, Poor Things, American Fiction, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives, The Zone of Interest and Anatomy of a Fall round out the category.
