San Javier boasts of having the largest public fitness sports center in the Region
The San Javier municipal sports center has “the largest publicly-managed sports fitness center in the Region,” said the Councilor for Sports, Sergio Martinezduring the inauguration of the building that opened its doors in an act that included a wide representation of the municipal sports world.
Mayor, Jose Miguel Luengoand the general director of Sports, Francisco Sanchezaccompanied by the councilor Sergio Martinez and the dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Jesus Garcia Pallaresthey inaugurated the new center that was presented at full capacity , just as It will open its doors to the public from next July 3.
The fitness center, built within the premises of the Municipal Sports Center of San Javier, has four rooms and a terrace, which will allow us to continue expanding the municipal sports offer, pointed out the mayor of Sports, Sergio Martínez. The Center has a weight room of 450 square meters equipped with high-end machinery, divided into five zones. The room offers a cardio area with 18 machines with connectivity, tv, internet and remote control for use during training and maintenance.
Another zone of bilateral and dual pulley machines. Plate machine area, free weight area, and group work area, a novelty, which will allow group classes to be offered within the room itself. The ground floor is completed with two large male and female changing rooms, an automated access control and a multi-service kiosk that will allow users to make their reservations for the offered activities, among other procedures.
On the top floor, the sports complex offers with a fitness room of 160 square meters dedicated to low intensity work, another 120-meter fitness room dedicated to high intensity, an 80-square-meter terrace, which has been prepared for outdoor activities and a state-of-the-art Indoor Cycle room. The roomspinning has 23 bicyclesambient lighting, with color changes, two 85-inch display screens and a gamification program as an added attraction.
Sergio Martinez recalled the difficulties that this new infrastructure that has gone through the stoppage of the pandemic and the subsequent lack of supplies, and even the abandonment of the work by the first awarded company in addition to the inflation caused by the War. Martínez recalled the previous Sports councilors and thanked the entire team that “has finally made it possible for today I start a new stage for this installation and we can give a better service to the citizen”.
Mayor Jose Miguel Luengo highlighted the symbolic fact of starting the new legislature with this sporting inauguration and committed to continue investing in sport “because it is an investment in health and improvement in the quality of life of families and all the neighbors.” The mayor announced other sports infrastructures that are underway in the municipality, such as the upcoming construction of the large Sports Park in La Manga del Mar Menor, which includes a complex of outdoor facilities, next to the Estacio canal. He also announced that another new infrastructure will be ready by the end of the summer, the stands and changing rooms, which will improve the conditions of use of the Santiago de la Ribera soccer field, which also serves the Faculty of Sports Sciences.
