The Dutch fitness chain Basic-Fit arrives in Alicante with the opening of two centers

ALICANTE. The chain of Dutch origin specialized in the sector of Fitness, Basic-Fit, which has more than 1,200 clubs in six countries, puts down roots in Alicante with the recent opening of two sports centers in the city, in what represents a new incursion into the province, in which it already has an establishment with three other clubs positioned in Elche and in which it plans to grow with a third center in the same capital, on Padre Recaredo de los Ríos street. For now, the two new centers in Alicante are located on calle Alcalalí, in the Rabasa commercial park, and on calle Alonso Cano, 64.

“We are very proud to open new clubs in the Valencian Community, specifically in Alicante, where we are having such a good reception. Exercise is a basic need and we are delighted to help each person with their commitment to improve their physical and mental health, since sport has proven positive effects in both aspects. We will continue to grow and work to increasingly become part of the lives of more Alicante men and women who want to make fitness a basic part of their lives”, stated the head of Expansión de Basic-Fit in Spain, Sebastian Taylor.

Basic-Fit is reaching all regions of the country and is the leading fitness chain by number of gyms, according to chain sources. The company has set the goal of opening between 450 and 650 clubs in Spain, and between 3,000 and 3,500 in Europe, by 2030. With the aim of adapting to the needs of its members, new centers like the ones that have just opened in Alicante have important news. The first is the optimization of spaces, adapting the design of some of the 7 training areas that make up the gyms to make them more spacious and comfortable for members.

This is the case of the cycle corner, which has been relocated, also facilitating the implementation of a specific free weight area Light. The second is the launch of new services that in many cases benefit from the accessibility of new technologies:

  • Massage chairs for Premium members: An alternative or complementary relaxation session to the training routine that works by scanning the membership card or the QR code available in the Basic-Fit app.
  • Small group trainings: Personalized training designed to be carried out in small groups, which have been favored by the empowerment of larger functional areas.
  • Personal Online Coach: A guided and 100% online program through the Basic-Fit app, in which a certified and independent personal trainer creates, in collaboration with Basic-Fit and through this platform, a personalized 12-week workout of duration. This specialist is in permanent contact with the member through a chat, to whom he performs a routine evaluation and analysis, to help him achieve his sporting goals comfortably and easily.

Basic-Fit provides a unique service to the Spanish market with gyms between 1,000 and 2,000 m², state-of-the-art machines, 7 different training areas, GXR group classes and the functionalities offered by the Basic-Fit app, all for an affordable price. “Our challenge is to take this club concept to as many people as possible, offering accessible, modern and quality centers for all our members, where training is easy and fun”, concludes Sebastien Taylor.
