  • Bodybuilding allows competitors to show off their incredible muscles and fans to marvel at their stage show. What you can’t imagine of work invested and money spent until you get to that stage or Mister Olympia. While athletes have started sharing different workouts and diet plans on their social media, few are still revealing the exact cost of competing in bodybuilding. And the bodybuilder Martin Fitzwater has told what it costs him… You’re going to freak out!

Fitzwater began competing professionally in 2017, when he finished second at the NPC Colorado State Pro in the light heavyweight division. And at the 2020 NPC North American Championship he got the Pro Card from him. In 2021 and 2022, Fitzwater competed in the IFBB Texas Pro. Last year, he finished runner-up to Andrew Jacked.

While preparing for a show, there are many expenses to cover. This includes food, the best supplements, steroids, travel, gym and much more. Earlier this month, Fitzwater did a little breakdown on her Instagram.

    MEAL

Martin Fitzwater can eat up to 9,000 calories a day. Of course, each competitor’s total cost of food is different and depends on many factors. This includes the number of sponsors he has, mostly.

Martin Fitzwater starts his day with a cup of coffee. For his first meal, a whey protein powder and peanut butter, along with other ingredients, which totaled about 10 euros. The second meal from him would cost 5 euros more.

The third meal 5 euros, while its pre-workout amount is 1 euro per scoop of protein. It also adds amino acids, carbohydrates and electrolytes that cost around 3 euros a day. Fitzwater’s gym fee is free, but he factors in gas to get to the gym. He admits that his car is a “gas guzzler” and requires 3 euros a day. Finally, Fitzwater enjoys his cheat meal that could range from 5 to 30 euros more. In other words, at least 300 euros a week for food alone, brutal!

In total, this would come out to about 50 euros per day. This does not include travel, competition fees, coaches… This means that in a mess Fitzwater would spend about 2,500 euros. As for what steroids cost, recently professional bodybuilder Victor Martinez revealed his use of anabolics and steroids for a year of preparation. And roughly speaking, a steroid cycle for beginners costs at least 150 euros. And most bodybuilders always have a testosterone base throughout the year that is very expensive to maintain.
