Aussie fitness influencer Kayla Itsines reveals secret health battle during second pregnancy
Aussie fitness influencer Kayla Itsines has revealed in an interview about her private health scare that occurred during her second pregnancy, with partner Jae Woodroffe.
The 32-year-old shared with Bustle on Wednesday, that 20 weeks into her pregnancy with son Jax, who was born in January, doctors found a mass fluid in her brain.
In a bid to avoid “massive drama online”, Itsines made the decision not to share the private battle with her 16 million followers.
At the time, doctors told the fitness model they wouldn’t know if everything would be okay for eight to nine weeks and was urged not to Google the condition as it would panic her.
“At one point, she called a psychic she knew who told her the baby was fine, and [that] it was a boy,” the Bustle article claimed.
“She’s not a woo-woo sort of person, but she would take whatever hope she could get. Eight weeks later, the scan came back, and everything was okay. The baby was fine, and it was a boy.”
“So I’ve gone through all of that sort of stuff, but… yeah,” she said.
“I just want women to feel confident and strong and beautiful, and not to say that they can’t do something when they clearly can. Like, it’s a box jump. Just do it.”
Itsines also shares a 4-year-old daughter with ex-fiance Tobi Pearce, whom she parted ways with in 2020.
While the reason they separated remains under wraps, Itsines recently made multiple remarks about her ex-lover during an interview with the Australian Financial Review, calling him “money driven” and “business-minded”.
“We are the polar opposite of one another”, she told the publication.
“I look back and think, ‘I have no idea how that all happened.’”
