Lakers’ Anthony Davis questionable with left corneal abrasion
The Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday listed Anthony Davis as questionable for Monday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks with an abrasion to his left cornea.
Davis was injured in the first quarter of Saturday night's game against Golden State after Warriors forward Trayce Jackson-Davis inadvertently hit him in the face while scoring on a layup. He continued playing for the next few minutes but eventually left the game and did not return.
A source familiar with Davis' injury told ESPN that the Lakers big man began to feel improvement Saturday night and continued to improve Sunday.
While Davis had to exit early, he has been quite durable this season. Saturday marked his 65th appearance in the 69 games Los Angeles has played, including the season championship victory over the Indiana Pacers.
The Warriors (35-31) won 128-121 to lead the Lakers (36-32) by one percentage point (.530 to .529) for ninth place in the Western Conference standings.
