OHM Fitness to open third Arizona location at Desert Ridge

Franchise OHM Fitness has announced its third Arizona location, set to open in early August in Desert Ridge Marketplace.

The new studio will take over the former 2,800-square-foot Eat the Frog Fitness studio, according to a press release.

OHM Fitness co-founder Doug Payne will collaborate with the former members of Eat the Frog to demonstrate the true potential of fitness and introduce the community to new technology and a fitness 2.0 mindset.

“Desert Ridge presents a promising opportunity for our next OHM Fitness location,” said Payne in a prepared statement. “This is a community known for its affinity toward wellness and related concepts. We look forward to inspiring and transforming the fitness experience for everyone involved, offering fresh perspectives and innovative approaches in Desert Ridge.”

Payne and his co-founders, Eric Hannam and Steve Belknap understand market dynamics and have gained experience through their involvement with Orangetheory Fitness, Massage Envy, European Wax Center and now OHM Fitness, the press release stated.

The partners opened the first OHM Fitness studio in August 2022 in Scottsdale near McDowell Mountain, and established its headquarters down the road. OHM Fitness’ second Arizona location is also slated to open this August in Gilbert at the new Cooley Station mixed-use lifestyle center. Since its opening, the company has sold the rights to nine territories totaling more than 275 future studios. Territories in development now include Arizona, San Diego, South Florida, New Jersey, Washington D.C, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina, and Texas.

Former Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise contestant, Demar Jackson, better known as DJ, will join the OHM Fitness team as one of the first trainers at the Desert Ridge location.

“OHM Fitness is transforming the fitness scene with its unique group fitness approach and I’m honored to be a part of this team,” said Jackson. ”Health and wellness has always been important to me and I love being able to bring high energy and a motivational atmosphere to my clients.”
