El Paso’s West Towne Marketplace continues to see new business growth with the opening of Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, a new craft store opening and a paint store under construction.
Cielo Vista Mall also is getting invigorated with new retail shops in the mall on the East Side.
And over in Horizon City, Planet Fitness has opened, offering those residents a close place to work out and maintain their health.
Here is a closer look at new businesses in the area for the month of July.
Michael’s opening at West Towne Marketplace
The popular Michael’s craft store is opening with a grand opening from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at West Towne Marketplace, 1539 N. Desert Blvd.
The El Paso artist Blanca Estrada, “Bloo,” will be part of the festivities by offering a painting class for customers, on on first-come, first-served basis.
There will be food trucks outside and some special Pokémon guests.
Cielo Vista Mall welcomes four well-known shops
Cielo Vista Mall has welcomed new brands and new food vendors, including Churro Time, Horxateria, which provides aguas frescas, and Elegance Shades (sunglasses) and Rapture (body jewelry). Here’s a closer look at four brand retailers.
Journeys
Journeys, a leader in teen retailers, has reopened at the mall and is on the upper level, next to Hollister Co.
The store is known for footwear and unique specialty items, including apparel, backpacks, hats, and accessories.
GNC
GNC (General Nutrition Centers) is the world’s largest company of its kind, devoted exclusively to helping its customers improve their quality of life with supplements and other health products.
It is located on the lower level; Sears entrance.
Galliano Boutique
Galliano Boutique is a premier women’s clothing with high-quality clothing at affordable prices for fashionable women, according to the mall release.
The store is located on lower level, next to Windsor.
YogoBerry
YogoBerry, an El Paso-based tart frozen yogurt brand geared towards those craving a healthy frozen treat is now at the mall. The treats are made with fresh ingredients and fruit toppings.
The yogurt shop is located on the lower level, next to Wetzel’s Pretzels.
Spirit Halloween coming to Cielo Vista Mall
Spirit Halloween, a season Halloween costume, makeup, accessories and decor shop, is also bringing the spooky season to Cielo Vista Mall.
Mall officials said it will open in August at the store. Stay tuned on location.
Planet Fitness opens in Horizon City
The Planet Fitness, at 13681 Gateway W. Blvd., near the Amazon Distribution Center, at 12101 Emerald Pass Drive, opened July 19 without much ado in Horizon City.
The center has some new machines that may be new to regulars of the franchise so be sure and check it out. So far, not a lot of traffic.
Hours are 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Information: 915-881-3354.
