    So by doing the no-carb diet, you just lose water weight? And if u do, if u eat normally again, will u gain your weight back?

    different diets work for different people, people who don't do exercise are likely going to have the most success with the keto diet (mostly fats) or intermittent fasting (not eating any foods at all). While someone who does a lot of aerobic exercises (like running) likely will benefit from lots of carbs and someone who does a lot of anaerobic (weight lifting) will likely benefit from paleo or high protein diets. There is a constant debate usually between high carb v ketosis diets, but there shouldn't be a debate, to begin with. We need to focus on giving people diets that work for different needs rather than decide on one diet that everyone sticks to.

    Just diet most of the month and have. Cheat day with a few hundred more calories than your normal intake.

    As long as you're eating predominantly whole, unprocessed foods and don't eat more than you burn then you can't go too far wrong.

    I think that the best diet is probably just eat mostly vegetables and complex carbohydrates, with a bit of meat and bread and other carbs. Also just limit yourself to how much you eat, and exercise a good amount.

    I wish the term for losing weight were "losing fat". I have been discouraged in the past by the miniscule change in my weight after increased diet and exercise over a few weeks time while in reality I had shifted my weight from fat to muscle. I guess that's why BMI is so important.

    The reason most diets fail is because when a lot of people stop dieting, they go back to eating unhealthily. Changes in eating habits should be permanent if you want to lose weight permanently.

    Here’s my average food plan
    Eat lots of proteins, eat good fats, avoid wheat, may eat starches every once in a while, eat organic, and ovoid dairy.
    Now dairy is okay every once in a while but yeah I usually eat food with things like this nuts, berries, vegetables, potatoes, avocados, spinach, salmon, chicken, beans, corn, and lots more food like this. And I usually eat meat once a day.

    My diet is called the Rediculous Obeysity Diet! It's where I buy out an entire grocery store worth of food and eat it all at once and then eat my bed just because I can!

    what about a keto diet I've been doing it for a month now and I've lost about 30 pounds I've also been doing intermediate fasting while also doing keto and I have to say the benefits are no joke, I also drink a lot of water so I refuse to believe that all that weight I've lost is water weight.

    Simple common sense, huh? I can attest to this approach: in December, 2016, I weighed 249 lbs.; in December, 2017, 211 lbs; on June 28, 2018, I weighed 188 lbs.
    A year out of high school ('69) I was at 258 lbs. and never looked back. The difference now? I have cut down on my calorie intake, pure and simple.
    My excellent brother Ray shared an image with me several years ago that made sense. He told me to make a fist and said that my stomach was actually about that size. If I eat more than that at any one time, I'm overeating.
    This was my epiphany. That easy truth provided me a path for portion control. When I'm hungry, I eat, whatever I want, until I feel full. The portions are now much abbreviated, and the quality of my diet has improved. I do not 'diet', what with the pointlessness of most. I just eat less.
    The weight loss has pleased my physician; my labs are all satisfactory. And did I mention I am close to ending my need for injecting insulin? Huh. Go figure!

    Soo I'm thinking of doing the OMAD diet for abt a week, then going vegetarian and keeping a healthy lifestyle. (Eating healthy, exercising, etc) Is that safe?
